🚨 Jesse, re the PV panel array ... you DO NOT need two different. . Simply share a common with an A/B switch (use a marine battery A/B/Both switch) Just top off the battery bank then Net Meter to the grid 100%.

They should make battery backups that are DC and a welder that is DC so it doesn’t have to charge from AC into a DC battery which converts back to AC for a welder which has to convert it back to DC

Very nicely done electrical video. You are very knowledgeable of the system. It is always a pleasure seeing someone doing it right! Some comments. When I did my shed, I put all the receptacles at 48” so I can put counter tops anywhere and not block them with objects sitting on the floor. I use a #2 square Robertson bit on most electrical termination screws. For future reference, long bends in pvc conduit, opposed to factory bends, causes way higher pulling friction. Conductors on conduit sidewall while pulling for many feet instead of a couple feet with a fitting. NM cable must be protected from physical damage below 8’, so conduit or wall covering. Hopefully you are not 6’3” tall. Maximum height to center of breakers is 6’7”. Please show in your next video, installing #6 bare out to and connected to two ground rods from the ground bar. Again, very good video!

This video has been so interesting to watch what it takes to wire up a garage with high voltage wiring with solar panels as a backup. You explain everything as you go which is also helpful.

  • @Rockport1911

Nice video, as a euro I think putting every wire in a conduit and only having 120V which needs thicker wires is so much more complicated but it is what it is :) Also the AWG numbers going up for smaller numbers is just backwards confusing, and goes forward again after 1 Gauge wire :)

Hi- when wiring up your ceiling lights I think the mounting hook and the safety hook screws should be separate- just in case something hits the mounting hook - then you don’t loose everything 😊🇬🇧

If you haven't already purchased the solar mini split, please do a deep dive on their COP for heating. I was pretty disappointed with my hotspot acdc18c performance. Ended up swapping it out for a non solar mini split for my house. I think the blueridge i got has a COP of like 2 at -15*f, wheras the acdc18c I measured it at something like a COP of 1 at +15*f. the "advertised" COP is almost always rated at a warm outside temp, and for some reason you need to really dig into the specs to find charts for lower temperatures. Perhaps I am wrong on the newer solar assisted minisplits and they have improved the performance, IDK. But for the extra price costs, honestly you don't need the solar side of them if you have the anker units in the garage already. Just something to consider.
